First Virtual Agora, Online Conference for Entrepreneurship

Mladiinfo International and Heartbeats Innovation on 7th July via Hopin platform organized a Virtual Youth Entrepreneurship Agora, an online conference for young entrepreneurs in North Macedonia as part of the Why Not Me?2.0, supported by the US Embassy in Skopje.

On this virtual conference  we had + 50 participants and we talked about entrepreneurial alchemy or what are the ingredients for one business to be successful, what are the needs of the young entrepreneurs in Macedonia and much more. The participants and the audience shared ideas and suggestions how we can improve the entrepreneurship and the ecosystem in North Macedonia and together with our guests we discussed them. Additionally, we had two poets who with their creativity contributed to make this event extraordinary!

The event started with the welcoming speech by the hosts Bistra Kumbaroska and Jasminka Mitvkoska and continued with the speech from the representative of the US Embassy in Skopje, Nadica Zakula, Senior Public Engagement Specialist. We also had the pleasure to see the art performance from our talented poets and artists Ana Golejska and Gorazd Keni, entitled “the voice of our time.”

During the event we had showcased 5 stories from young entrepreneurs in Macedonia as a video postcards/short documentaries. These videos were also produced within the frame of Why Not Me?2.0 project and are available on our youtube channel here.

The first panel named as: What ingredients are needed to create “the magic/ the achemy” in entrepreneurship?, was moderated by our colleague Marjan Icoski. Here as a panel guests we had 4 amazing speakers: Dimitar Jovevski (Faculty of Economics, UKIM), Vesna Ivanovska (SEAVUS Accelerator), Mimi Stojanoska (Forma Vita Fitness), Gligor Rizov (SourceMX Academy) .

In our Coffee talks: Ask what you will! – We had as a guest one of the most famous young entrepreneurs in North Macedonia, Gorjan Jovanovski.

Later an open space was provided for all of the +50 participants who could write their ideas and suggestion on a jam board table and all of the content that was written was discussed in the final session, “This is not the end of the Agora”, with the vice prime minister for economy Mr. Fatmir Bitiqi and Ivana Stankovikj from the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development.

Thanks to all participants who joined us as well as BIG thanks to our speakers, professors, experts, entrepreneurs, representatives of the US Embassy in Skopje, government institutions and FITD that contributed with their expertise on topic as one of the most important for young people in North Macedonia.
