The Kick-Off Meeting for the project “YES, We care!” (Youth Empowerment through Social Entrepreneurship) took place in Ohrid – Macedonia, in the period from 11 – 14 May.
At the Kick-Off Meeting, representatives of the five partner-organizations from Austria, Uganda, Slovakia, Rwanda, Kenya and Macedonia discussed about the level of cooperation, the divisions of tasks and the outcomes of the project. They also defined the methodology for the upcoming research (the milestone is to have the organizational leaders at one place to start a cooperation on a long term level and define the methodology for the upcoming research).
As part of the project, an online platform with detailed project information and opportunities for development of youth social entrepreneurship in participating countries will be developed. The research will involve all the players in the ecosystem not just businesses but also incubators, co-working spaces, accelerators, foundations and NGO working on the SE, mentoring program for social projects, etc. Each partner will be responsible to provide information about the situation in their country and to organize the collected data. The platform will be youth-friendly and will serve as a starting point for every youngster who wants to embrace social entrepreneurship!
The idea behind the project Youth Empowerment Through Social Entrepreneurship (YES, We Care!) is aimed at developing skills of youth to appreciate the community, the environment and their participation in the social and political processes, as well as to work on sustainable businesses in the field of social entrepreneurship (SE).
Partners are looking forward to upcoming project activities and strongly believe that this meeting was just an initial step towards a successful and fruitful cooperation!
