mYouth – Mobile, Young, Opportunity, Unity, Technology, Help

The Association for Education – Mladiinfo International from Macedonia along with its 9 international project partners from Austria, Poland, Ghana, Senegal, Hong Kong, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and Singapore aims to discover brand new worlds and potentials through the capacity-building project mYouth – Mobile, Young, Opportunity, Unity, Technology, Help.

In a nowadays globalized world there are still many young people, who fail to obtain proper education due to many of reasons: infrastructure, institutional barriers, economic obstacles, disability, taking care of the household, so on and so forth. That’s why mYouth project is here to help!

mYouth brings mLearning closer to youth by creating a free access to education for everyone. Therefore as a part of the project, the mobile applications have been developed aiming to solve a problem in the community and thereby, make an impact. Each of participating countries at the project conducted national coding camp, from which hundreds of youths directly benefited in improving their digital skills.
The local events were usually taken the format of up-to-three-days competition code camps, where at least 20 youngsters per country, were competing and developing mobile android apps. The winners of local camps were invited to attend the mYouth special training that took place in Macedonia, from 20 June – 14 July 2016. The training was focused on Android Mobile Applications & Business Model Development and brought young entrepreneurs from different countries together to develop the skills needed to create and implement mobile learning opportunities.More than 20 mobile apps were developed through the Local Mobile App Code Camps. With all the brilliant ideas for mobile applications, this was the chance and getaway for all participants to embark on a special journey, where aside working on mobile app ideas, they also entered a vibrant network to pitch the ideas, and also were rewarded for their digital product at a world level. The best produced mobile apps got the chance to compete for the European Youth Summit Award, a pan-European contest established for motivation of young people, development of social entrepreneurship and start-ups to produce digital projects with impact on society and for the World Summit Youth Award – a unique global contest which brings together young developers and digital entrepreneurs – under 30 years of age – who use the internet and mobile technology to put the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into actions and make a difference!
