Youth Regional Conference: “Information Society and Its Impact on the Development of Youth Media”

The two-day conference took place in September 2008 in Skopje, Macedonia bringing together around sixty participants from East-East Program countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Kosovo, Armenia, Turkey and Macedonia) and additional participants from CEI countries (Italy and Austria). The main goals of the conference were: establishing contacts between students and young IT professionals, discussing important issues related to the role of IT technology in youth life today, initiating formation of networks between the youth online media and youth portals. Another crucial aim of the conference was the sharing of ideas, new trends and debating on topics concerning the Information Society, the influence of the formation of New Youth Media, the impact of globalization and Virtual social life of young people today in the whole region.Supported by: Open Society Institute & Central European Initiative
