YiA Training Course “Creative Forces”

Mladiinfo gathered more than 30 young people from different European countries (Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia) to participate in the Youth in Action training course “Creative forces”, that took place on the 30th of October till the 6th of November. This training course was organized as a partnership between 5 different youth organizations: Mladiinfo, Mladiinfo Slovensko, Omladinska novinska asocijacija u BiH, Youth Media Network Association and World Youth Wave. The goal of this week was for the participants to learn how to use new media in a professional context and how this can create job opportunities either for themselves or for others. The training focused on writing and managing web content and among other things, the participants were familiarized with the concepts of citizen journalism, link economy, the F-shaped pattern of reading and user generated content (UCG). The idea of the training was to combine both theoretical and practical classes based on the methodology of active learning or a so-called “on-the-job” training.

The training was held by two professional trainers and experts in their field: Zoran Ricliev from Media Print Macedonia and Damjan Arsovski from it.com.mk. The training ended with a study visit to the media newsroom of the television station Alsat-M in Skopje. Last but not least, during the program, the participants had the chance to establish new contacts with people from the region, try traditional Macedonian food and sweets and share their own during an evening of nations. The ones who were unfamiliar with Skopje spend their free time exploring the city and the more adventurous ones even enjoyed Skopje seen from above when hiking up to the cross on mount Vodno.
